Quinoline Yellow Food Color or Food Dye or Food Additive is the food color that is developed using sulfonating 2-(2-quinolyl) Indan-1,3-dione. Comprising sodium salt that is mixture of mainly monosulfonates, trisulfonates and disulfonates, these subsidiary coloring matters are used together with sodium chloride/sodium sulfate as principal uncolored component.
The organic compounds other than coloring matters it contains include 2-methylquinoline-sulfonic acid; Phthalic acid; 2-methylquinoline; 2,6-dimethyl quinoline sulfonic acid and 2,6-dimethyl quinoline (Total not more than 0.5%).
