Green S Food Color or Food Dye or Food Additives comprise mainly of sodium N-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl (2-hydroxy-3,6-disulfo-1-naphthalenyl)methylene]-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-ylidene-N-methylmethanaminium with subsidiary coloring matter in combination with sodium chloride/sodium sulfate as principal uncolored compound.
As a sodium salt, the organic compound other than coloring matters it contains include 4,4'-bis(dimethylamino-benzophenone) (Not more than 0.1%); 4,4'-bis(dimethylamino-benzhydryl alcohol (Not more than 0.1%) and 3-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (Not more than 0.2%).
