Reactive Dyes

Reactive dye is a class of dye that makes a covalent bond with the fiber and becomes an integral part of the fiber. These are usually used to dye cellulosic fibers such as cotton, rayon, or flax, but polyamide, wool, silk, and acetate fibers can also be dyed using reactive dyes. Reactive dyes are so-called because this is the only type of dye that has a reactive group. This group reacts chemically with the fiber polymer molecules to form covalent bonds. This covalent bond is formed between the reactive group and terminal –OH group of cellulosic fibers and terminal –NH2 group of polyamide and wool fiber.

Reactive dyes are the most versatile and popular class of organic dye for importing color on cellulosic fibers. As the name suggests, these dyes chemically react with cellulose to form a covalent bond between a dye molecule and cellulose.

Reactive Cold Dyes

'M' Cold Series

These are called 'COLD BRAND DYES' These dyes are having very good reactivity fatness properties.

These dyes require milder alkaline contitions for applications and fixation at the optimum temperature of 25-35 Deg. C.

These are named as 'HOT H DYES' These dyes are applied under strong alkaline conditions at high temperature of application.

compared to 'M' Dyes. These Dyes contains very good fatness properties to wash, perspiration, light etc. These dyes are suitable particularly for printing cotton, viscose, cuprammonium raysons & natural silk.

Reactive HE Dyes

'HE' Highly Exhausted

These are bifunctional reactionary tint. Which are having two reactive molties of the same type viz Monochloro Triazinyl.

The chromogen of the colour is supported through a stillbene in the molecule. This structure provides good light fatness and as well good washing fatness

Because of having high molecular weight. 'HE' Dyes give good yields irrespective the M:L ratio and having high substantivity. These are having high fixation and tinctorial value. All shades of 'HE' are mutually compatable in combination with good shade reproducibility. The optimum fixation temperature of 'HE' Dyes is 80-85 Deg. C.

Reactive Vinyl Sulphone Based Dyes

'Vinyl Sulphone' Based

These are vinyl sulphone based reactive dyes widely used for dyeing & printing of cellulosic fibres for its very good fatness properties.

These dyes are having very good features like, good solubility even in presence of alkali, very good fatness properties, can be applied both by exhaust & padding methods, possesses less affinity hence very good leveling property & suitable for resist & discharge printing very much effectively. These dyes are applied by exhaust method at the optimum temperature of 60-65 Deg. C.
